PEERS Training Opportunity for San Diego Educators Dec 8-10

NFAR, in collaboration with the SDSU Autism Program, is providing the opportunity for five educators to participate in the four day UCLA PEERS Training Seminar for Professionals at San Diego State University this December. The UCLA Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relationship Skills (PEERS) is a manualized, social skills training intervention for teens and young adults with autism. The course will be led by UCLA PEERS Director Dr. Liz Laugeson and Clinic Coordinator Shannon Bates, M.A.

The regular price for this program at UCLA is $2,200, but NFAR will award five educators with the opportunity to attend this training at a reduced cost of $500 per person.

Qualification Requirements

  • Special education teacher or special education professional of record with preliminary credentials
  • Works directly with groups of 2 or more students (ages 13 - 17) with a diagnosis of autism in San Diego
  • Must be able to participate in all 4 days
