This past December, NFAR awarded K.I.D.S. Therapy Associates Inc. a Community Project Grant entitled “Summer Sports Camp for All” to provide funding for the supervision, training and accommodations for up to 40 campers with autism to attend the Kids Games Sports Camp. Each child (aged 5 – 12) will receive an individualized plan, with modifications, supports and trained camp “Buddies” geared at making this experience fun and successful, regardless of disability severity.
Held June 18-22, the Camp is a fully integrated summer sports camp that encourages cooperation, active participation, personal development and social engagement, while keeping children safe. Activities include: soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball, karate, flag football, golf/frisbee, running, archery/fishing/orienteering, and more. Camp cost is $40 per child.
