Community Project Grant Description
Proposals sought to create or expand programs that increase current level of treatment and services for children with autism in the San Diego region. Can include pilot studies of treatments; outreach to underserved populations, research studies to improve treatment, and expansion of existing educational, recreational or treatment programs. Applications are due September 15, 2012 and are awarded in December. Grants awards range from $2,000 and up, with an average grant award of $10,000. Download Project Application (MSWord .doc file)
Guidelines
- The 2012 Community Grant Application must be used – to be available online starting May 21, 2012
- Funds are to be used in the San Diego region.
- Open to institutions doing research or running programs directly.
- Funds to be used for research or programs applicable to autism and ASD.
- Funds are not to be used for general operating/OH costs
Teachers Grant Description
To support teachers and other professionals with the educational tools and materials needed to educate students with autism in San Diego County. Guidelines
- The Teacher Grant Application and Guidelines for the 2012/ 2013 school year should be used..
- Funds are to be used in the San Diego region.
- Applicant must be a educator such as a teacher, SLP, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist from a public or non public school.
- The funding request should address only one specific area of need, such as social skills, communication skills, fine or gross motor skills, reading comprehension, math, other academic areas of concern, life skills and employment training.
