
NFAR offers as well as provides for a variety of Programs and Services that are positively impacting families and children with autism.

This past December, NFAR awarded K.I.D.S. Therapy Associates Inc. a Community Project Grant entitled “Summer Sports Camp for All” to provide funding for the supervision, training and accommodations for up to 40 campers with autism to attend the Kids Games Sports Camp.
NFAR Funds CARD’s Create Opportunities to Meet Peers and Advance Social Skills study.

Last month, NFAR awarded a Community Project Grant to the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD) research and development department to fund their Creating Opportunities to Meet Peers and Advance Social Skills (COMPASS) study.

On Oct. 29, NFAR played host to superheroes, ninjas, princesses, witches, lions, puppies and even Mario & Luigi at our first annual Autism Halloween Carnival.

NFAR is providing the opportunity for five educators to participate in the four day UCLA PEERS Training Seminar for Professionals at San Diego State University this December.

Positive Action Community Theatre (PACT) is offering two 8-week workshop series for individuals with disabilities PACT workshops are designed to raise self-esteem and develop creative talents for children, teens and adults. Supported in part by a NFAR grant, the fall session includes Teen/Adult Inclusive Theatre and Teen/Adult Inclusive Dance (Salsa, Country, Hip Hop, more) workshops
