NFAR Board Member’s Research Offers Hope for Autism Diagnosis |

Scientists at the UCSD Autism Center of Excellence, headed by Dr. Eric Courchesne, are working to determine the biomarkers of autism, an important step towards an early diagnosis. Currently, most diagnoses are not made until age 3, but this study appears to offer the first measurable autism indicators, which would help identify high risks earlier.

Quick Shopping Tips to Help Keep Your Family Healthy |

This summer, a few simple decisions made at the grocery store can help improve your family’s health. Limiting the amount of pesticides consumed from your food is highly recommended – especially during early childhood.
The Environmental Working Group just released their new 2010 shopping list of the Dirty Dozen, or the most contaminated fruits & vegetables that you should buy organic (hint: summer favorites apples, grapes and strawberries) and the Clean 15 that were found to have the lowest pesticide levels (feel free to stock up on avocados, mangos and watermelon.)
