In 2005, the National Foundation for Autism Research introduced two types of grants to the San Diego community; the larger Pilot Project/ Community Program grants and the San Diego Autism Teacher's grants. These grants are made possible by the funds raised by the parents, friends, professionals and supporters of the San Diego Race for Autism held in Balboa Park each March. To apply for grant funding, please refer to the instructions below. 1) Pilot Projects/ Community Programs Grants- provides funds to non-profit organizations for the purpose of creating or expanding programs that increase the current level of treatment services to children with autism. Proposal topics may include pilot studies of treatments, outreach to under-served populations, research studies to improve treatment, and efficacy of treatment programs, and should strive to have an immediate impact on the needs of the community. These grants can be up to $10,000 each. PLEASE READ -
